What is the dress code for the Saturday evening dance?

 We do not have a formal dress code. Most dancers wear festive attire.

Is the Friday night contra dance included in the weekend registration fee?

 No. The Friday night contra dance is sponsored by the Triangle Country Dancers (TCD). Admission is $10 non-members, and $8 members. Dancers pay at the door. For more information visit TCD’s website: www.tcdancers.org

Where is the Friday night contra held?

 The Friday contra dance is from 8:00-11:00pm at the Carrboro Century Center. The address is 100 N. Greensboro St., Carrboro, NC 27510 . Directions can be found on TCD’s website: www.tcdancers.org

I have no English dance experience. Can I still attend?

 This event is intended for dancers who have some basic knowledge of English country dance figures.

How can I learn about or gain English dance experience prior to this event?

 If you live locally, please join us for our regular English country dances on Thursday evenings, from 7:30-9:30pm, at the Freedman Center of Beth-El Synagogue, in Durham, NC. For more information about our weekly dances, visit: sunassembly.org

How can I familiarize myself with gender neutral dance terminology?

I am a contra, international, or Scottish dancer, but have little or no English dance experience. Is this event for me?

 You may be able to draw on other folk dance experiences, but we also encourage you to become familiar with English country dancing prior to the event.

What is your refund policy?

 No refunds will be issued after March 9, 2015.

Is there a cap on the number of dancers who can attend this event?

 We will announce if space becomes limited.

Do I have to register in advance for the whole DanceFest weekend in order to attend the events?

 No. While we would love for you to join us for the entire weekend, you may also just attend the individual workshops and dances of your choice, and pay for them at the door. If you are planning to attend the entire weekend, remember that there is an early bird discount of $5 if you register before March 1.
